Thursday, 1 May 2025, Kuta, Bali, Indonesia: The Asian Surf Cooperative (ASC), in collaboration with the Phang Nga Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Phang Nga Surfing Club, is proud to announce the return of Tipi Jabrik’s Grom Patrol to Thailand. This exciting event holds the distinction of being the first Grom Patrol to be held outside Indonesia in 2024, where it welcomed over 80 young surfers from Australia, Finland, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore.
The 2025 edition of Grom Patrol Thailand will take place on 30–31 May at Pakarang Beach, Khao Lak—one of Thailand’s most iconic surf destinations. With its sandy bottom and warm, beginner-friendly waves, Pakarang Beach provides an ideal setting for young surfers to compete, play, and grow their skills.
“We’re proud to be hosting another Grom Patrol here in Khao Lak,” said Chatchai Somporn, President of the Phang Nga Surfing Club. “Grom Patrol 2025 is more than just a competition—it’s a full-scale surf festival designed to give young Thai athletes the opportunity to compete on an international stage, gain valuable experience, and take their first real steps toward a professional surfing career.”
The event also aligns with Phang Nga Province’s vision to promote Sports Tourism—a dynamic blend of travel, sport, and community engagement. By showcasing the region’s stunning beaches, excellent surf conditions, and vibrant local culture, the event aims to strengthen the local economy, foster healthy lifestyles, and elevate Phang Nga’s image as a world-class surfing destination.
